Day of Treatment
-
Remain indoors if possible and avoid direct
sunlight
-
Take analgesics such as Tylenol, Aleve, Advil if
needed
-
Apply hydrocortisone ointment 1%, Vaseline or
Catrix ointment at night – your skin will feel dry; keep it moisturized
well.
Second Day
-
You may take a shower. Men should avoid shaving
if the face was treated.
-
You may take analgesics. Any discomfort should be
gone by the third day at the latest.
-
You should try to avoid sunlight again today and
remain indoors. The light sensitivity usually only lasts 24 hours, but
may rarely last as long as 40 hours.
-
You should soak treated areas with a solution of 1
tsp. of white vinegar in one cup of cold water for 20 minutes every 4-6
hours. Ice can be directly applied over the vinegar soaks. The area
should be patted dry and hydrocortisone ointment 1% reapplied following
the vinegar soaks.
Third to Seventh Day
-
Once the crusting has healed, you can apply
make-up. The areas treated may be slightly red for a few weeks. If you
need help finding make-up alternatives to use following treatment,
please consult with our medical esthetician.
-
The skin may feel dry and tightened. Use a good
moisturizer daily.
-
Try to avoid direct sunlight for the first week. A
sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher should be used for the four months
after treatment. Our SPF 37 facial sunscreen is an ideal option to
protect your newly rejuvenated skin.
